Job Responsibilities:  Analyze, write, and test software/firmware for custom and standard Touch products

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Develop and design new software drivers and applications and modify and improve existing software products within budgetary constraints and customer requirements.
  • Work with specified artwork and object attributes to create graphic based user interface applications (widgets) using 2D and 3D animation,
  • Select and debug development tools and methods to be used in the development process.
  • Requisition programmers, services and supplies as needed.
  • Analyze CCAs for root cause and recommend corrective action response.
  • Complete CCA corrective action and submit to Leader for approval.
  • Provide technical assistance to Sales Department for quotations.
  • Communicate with Manufacturing Engineering and provide coding support for production hardware, including programming and testing.
  • Provide application notes, user manuals and programming manuals as required.
  • Test and evaluate software and provide feedback in software code review meetings.
  • Analyze test data and reports to determine if software/firmware meets functional and performance specifications.
  • Provide Sales Department with special design/price requests (SD/PRs).
  • Recommend suppliers and/or other outside sources for technical information as needed to meet design objectives.
  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers.
  • Adhere to Grayhill release to production protocols.
  • Participate in seminars, meetings and training sessions as required to maintain a working knowledge of new developments, techniques and products in the industry.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university with a Software Engineering concentration
  • 0-3 years related experience    
  • Working Knowledge of Windows (Versions 7,8,10) and Linux Application Development
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio, (Visual C++, C#) Application Development
  • Embedded C/C++ programming is a plus

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Familiarity with Windows Touch and/ or Linux touch drivers
  • Embedded graphical design (SDL, OpenGL, Custom Graphic Libraries)
