Summary Leads and directs all activities for plant location by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  •  Provide leadership to Plant associates insuring corporate goals and values are communicated, understood and met.
  •  Review production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
  •  Prepare operational schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
  •  Review production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs, prevent operational delays and reduce scrap.
  •  Develop or revise standard operational and working practices and observe workers to ensure compliance with standards.
  •  Resolve associate issues.
  •  Compile, store, and document all procedures and specifications relating to assigned programs and projects.
  •  Insure that all company policies and procedures are communicated appropriately.
  •  Direct analyses of returned materials and goods for manufacturing errors and insure errors are corrected.
  •  Assure that methods used to manufacture company products are in accordance with Manufacturing Engineering methods and specifications.
  •  Evaluate and recommend capital equipment expenditures.
  •  Review and evaluate molding methods, processes and production equipment and tooling.
  •  Insure physical plant facility, environmental systems and all equipment are maintained in accordance with company standards.
  •  Act as a liaison between the facility and corporate departments and the leadership team.
  •  Determine mold, tooling and fixture design requirements and cost estimates for all new products or improvements in present products consistent with Engineering and Manufacturing objectives.
  •  Mentor, coach and develop staff.
  • Some travel may be required (less than 10%).

Supervisory Responsibilities                                          

 Manage subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 75-150 employees in the facility. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Also directly supervises one non-supervisory employee. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

  •  Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university.
  • Ten to fifteen years related experience and/or training
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
