Summary Conducts variety of electronic, electrical, mechanical, environmental, and physical tests on Grayhill products to ensure unit functions according to specifications or to determine cause of unit failure by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Plan and perform product reliability testing to meet customer and throughput requirements.
- Read test schedule, test requests, production and performance specifications, wiring diagrams, and schematics to determine testing procedure and equipment to be used.
- Test functional performance of systems, subassemblies, and parts under specified environmental conditions such as temperature change, vibration, pressure, and humidity.
- Calibrate test instruments according to specifications.
- Monitor power at units and monitors output as needed.
- Compare results with specifications and standards and record test data or plot test results on graph.
- Confer with engineers, technicians, production personnel, and others regarding testing procedures and results and to resolve problems.
- Verify dimensions of pins, shafts, and other mechanical parts.
- Verify functionality of product during testing by using power supplies, mulitmeters, oscilloscopes and other test equipment.
- Verify test setup calibration prior to beginning all tests.
- Interpret government, UL, CSA, CE, customer and Grayhill product and test specifications as applicable to Grayhill and other products.
- Interface with Grayhill Engineering and government, UL, CSA, VE, customer and third party testing agency personnel to support Grayhill test programs.
- Advise QC Lab Manager when a unit under test fails to meet specified performance requirements.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- Or two years related experience and/or training
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
